Quilt Block Info

Quilts are meant to be used. They are used to keep our loved ones warm and are tucked in the car for long trips. It is always my assumption that every quilt I make shall not merely be loved, but be well loved. Will be a comfortable friend that is curled up with to watch a spooky movie, snuggled under to read a good book, and spread out on the grass to stargaze on a cool autumn evening.

With that in mind, I strive to make sure that my quilts are as washable as possible given the materials and varying needs of each quilt.  If I do my job right, and the future owners care for the quilt properly, then each quilt should stand the test of years of loving use.

I said of a wedding quilt I made for someone in 2009 “…this should be the kind of quilt that they will be able to wrap their children and grandchildren in as they grow and then display on the wall at their 50th anniversary.”

That is the mindset I approach each quilt from.
